The smartest way to sell your house, and the way I’ve always done it, is the traditional full-service listing. Just as I’ve not tried to do the work of my doctor, lawyer or accountant, I’ve also not done the work of my realtor. It’s a complicated, sometimes difficult, time-consuming process to sell a house. My thought is leave it to the pros and let them earn their money.
So, how do you choose a good realtor? You should contact a few realtors by phone or e-mail. Try and find someone you feel comfortable with. Can you communicate with them? How responsive are they? Are they familiar with your neighborhood? Are they net-savvy? Do they know more about sales and marketing than just how to spell them?
